Wreyland Rural Planning is a firm of Chartered Surveyors, accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and established by Tim Barker BSc (Hons) MSc MRICS FAAV ABIAC.
Tim is a Chartered Rural Surveyor, Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers, Associate of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants and holds both Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester in Rural Land and Estate Management. Tim has a decade's experience in the rural professional sector.
Prior to entering the surveying profession, Tim worked in farming and land management on his native Dartmoor, in South Wales and various parts of New Zealand. This combination of academic, professional and practical experience enables Tim to provide reasoned professional advice that is routed in practical understanding.
Tim is passionate about rural development and the ongoing need to pursue resilience in the rural sector. As Britain moves away from its membership of the European Union, our rural and agricultural sectors have an increasing need to continue to look to themselves for other avenues to maintain their viability into the future.
National and Local planning policy is acquiescent to rural development, however the planning system remains one of the most significant barriers to economic growth in rural areas. Wreyland Rural Planning operates wholly in the rural environment, partnering with its clients to provide a targeted, no-nonsense approach to seeking out and unlocking latent value in the rural sector.
Away from the office, Tim is a member of the Severn Area Rescue Association, which undertakes search and rescue operations on the River Severn and within its 20,000km2 catchment. Tim's disciplines include High Risk Missing Persons, flood response and boat rescue work with the station's rescue boats to incidents on the Seven and across the region. Wreyland Rural Planning are pleased to offer 10% discounts on fees to Blue Light Card holders.
